Batik

Indonesia merupakan sebuah negara yang kaya akan kebudayaannya. Masing-masing daerah di Indonesia memiliki budaya yang berbeda beda. Namun, dengan adanya berbagai perbedaan tak membuat Indonesia terpecah pelah. Justru dari perbedaan tersebut dapat memunculkan ragam budaya yang menarik di mata dunia.
Salah satu kebudayaan Indonesia yang banyak menarik perhatian dunia adalah BATIK. Batik merupakan sebuah ketrampilan menggambar pakain. Namun mengambar pakain yang dimaksudkan tidak menggunakan pensil, terdapat alat khusus yang disebut canting.
Canting biasanya terbuat dari tembaga (untuk pipanya) dan kayu (untuk pegangangan). 
Agar dapat digunakan dengan baik sesuai fungsi awalnya yaitu menggambar, canting haruslah terisi tinta terlebih dahulu. Namun tinta yang digunakan pada canting berbeda dengan tinta yang digunakan pada alat tulis umumnya. Tinta yang dimaksudkan adalah malam. Malam ini dapat digunakan setelah dicairkan diatas kompor.
Namun seiring dengan berkembangnya teknologi, canting mengalami perkembangan. Kini telah tersedia canting elektrik. Namun malam yang digunakan untuk canting elektrik ini berbeda dari malam yang digunakan  pada canting biasa. Malam yang digunakan tampak lebih bening dari malam biasanya dan harganyapun jauh lebih mahal.
